Is the reason the government seems to give China a free hand because the imports are made for and under?

American corporations? Do you think the government should check out everything that is imported from there to make sure it is safe. I mean even your spoons and forks are made there for the American companies.

after the dog food scare and many pet's dying and the the childrens toy's, what in hell is wrong with our govt,???? ya think???? they do not care, or it would have happened along time ago, thank hill/billy for that evil doer's all the way!!!!!!

I think we have things from China due to greed. It is cheaper to manufacture them there.

If we imported less then they could inspect more. I think part of the problem on bad products (e.g., toys) getting in is just the sheer amount that comes in.

Have you tried to buy a toy that is made only in the US? It is almost impossible! For example, "Trouble" is American made however it has parts that are made in China.

Washington seems to think that if we trade with various countries it is good for the economy and America in general. Why can't they get it through their pea brains that it is better for America to have Americans working and safe products?

I don't trust the Chinese. Their only incentive to have safe products is that they don't want to kill off the people that purchase their JUNK.

Low Cost Products will always come with Low Quality (there is a limit to how cheap it can go for the same quality).

Also..
Do you think the person working in bonded-labour / Slavery will worry if there is 2% more lead in what he is making?

i've never seen the need to get product from other countries and since most other countries do not have the same standards we do for products and goods it's dangerous.
