I am trying to download skype so my ebay customers can chat and get a quick answer, but I am quite naive at 56. My puter seems to not want to do it, probably the Micro trend ?? It says it causes a "registry change" and I have NO IDEA if this is normal or very very bad, advice desperately needed for my Christmas listings/sales. thanks

It is best to download any program from the developer's site whenever possible.
It would be normal for registry changes to happen when installing a new program.
Whether you are downloading from a safe site or not is for you to decide.
You can check any download before opening by right clicking on the downloaded file and allow your antispyware and antivirus to scan the file for malware. This isn't 100% effective as malware is constantly changing and security programs are constantly playing catch up to identify malware.
Just a reminder--NEVER click on any link in any Instant Messenger or Email unless you have verified with the sender that THEY actually sent the link. That is one way that is very popular with malware purveyors to install malware on your computer. I always copy and paste links into Google search to see what it actually is.

If you need to download 'Skype', would recommend you to download it from 'creator's site. This ensures that the software is free from any spyware and virus. And at the same time If you are skeptic go to the site and read the user's reviews And then make the necessary decision.............
