I had something similiar happen to me. We were told at 14 weeks that it was a girl. I thought I was having some complications so they did another u/s at 16 weeks and low and behold they said boy. Hubby and I had a 4D u/s done this past Saturday and it showed a definite boy. The u/s tech said that girls are much harder to determine, especially at 14 weeks. We took in a picture and she said the way the baby was positioned she could see how someone would say girl. Good luck!!!!

That is pretty common. Before 18 to 20 weeks, many times the ultrasounds show a girl and it turns out to be a boy (which is seen in later ultrasounds) because of the development. I would say it's a boy most likely since the 16 week one said a male.

well a 19 week will be more accurate I'm surprised they gave you sex at you 14 week because at that age telling is very hard and only veterans can really tell if possible but i would say boy is your best bet but don't put all your eggs in the boy basket yet i was told boy at 17 weeks and then during my 20 week it was a girl for sure this time. so make sure your ready for another double back. Good Luck and Congrads

They told me 3 times in my last 2 weeks of pregnancy with my 2nd baby that it was a boy. I could even see what appeared to be his little bits. I was 2 weeks over due so I was going in every other day for NST and ultrasounds. When I delivered and they put my baby on my chest I could'nt beleive what I saw!!! It was a big beautiful baby girl!!!
I was so happy cos I kinda had a feeling anyways that it was a girl. Follow your gut feeling ( no pun intended). I have called all my babies so far!! Take care and best wishes.

To check for the sex of a baby, they say the best time to get a more accurate 'guess' (because they can never be 100% sure until birth) you should get a US between 18 weeks and 20 weeks. I got one at 18 weeks with both my girls and they could never fully confirm it. With my first, I didn't know for sure until birth (I had 6 US after 18 weeks) and now with my second it was confirmed at 28 weeks it is a girl (3rd US and it was 3d/4d...2d couldn't detect). Girls are much harder to predict than boys I have heard. I mean the first US I had with my first daughter, they thought she was a boy but her hamburger was just swollen...after that they guessed it could be a girl but kept saying it looked like a turtle or a swollen hamburger. I prayed for a girl....and got one! Good luck!!!!

I say that to just be on the safer side buy everything neutral. Because I have heard of situations like yours all the time. The person doing the ultra sound can tell you wether your having a boy or girl. Then when you actually go into labor & have your baby it turns out to be the opposite sex of what they told you. So again you have a 50/50 chance of having either one.

I would think it would be harder to determine a girl than a boy. Sometimes the boy's penises can be hidden and that's why techs may determine the baby is a girl. Unless your baby has his/her legs wide open, then it is like playing a guessing game. However, the ultrasounds techs are trained to see these things in an ultrasound.
See what they tell you at this next one and maybe your baby will be showing you for sure what his/her gender is. I guess the babies like to play guessing games too. :)

Believe it or not, these mistakes happen ALL the time! Sometimes women think they are having a girl through their whole pregnancy, and when the baby comes out, they get a BIG suprise, it's a boy!

14 weeks is a little early to find out the sex. 16 weeks is too. I'd wait to see what the 19 week one says. Those are way more accurate

They really dont like to tell you until your 20 wks because mistakes do happen. My sis was told she was having a girl but when it was born it was a big ole' boy so you can never be 100% sure. Good luck though.
