My little one has tried a few jarred foods, but I try to make own. Her favorites are peas and banana's... the 2 thickest stage 1's I have found. She like the thicker consistancy. If I dont make my own all the time, are stage 2's thicker or just a larger portion? Any suggestions on how to get them a little thicker? Maybe add a little cereal? Thanks!

It depends on your daughter's age due to her digestive system on how thick it should be. I used to add cereal to certain foods to make it thicker. Stage 2 is usually a larger portion but Stage 3 is thicker but I wouldn't give it to her unless she's 9 months old or older.

no the stage 2 aren't any thicker just a larger jar, the third stage ones are usually thicker. Adding cereal sounds like a good idea.

Stage 2s seem to be the same consistency as stage 1s from my experience, just larger. If you aren't making your own, maybe you could mix one of the thicker foods with one of the tinner foods. Stage 3s from what I understand have some chunks in them, and I imagine that they might be thicker, but it is just a guess.

Good luck!

the cereal idea is a good idea i used it when i was feeding my daughter her first and second foods(it worked really well)just make sure that you don't use too much because the rice can be hard for them to digest sometimes, also some of the 3rd foods don't have peices they are just really thick like they have banana's and strawberry banana(which my daughter really likes) and somekind of blueberry buckle kind the thick texture is so that they can get used to chewing and is you satrt feeding her the thick textures now when she is ready to eat the food with peices she'll already know how to chew it!!

I added ceral to my daughter's baby food. It filled her up and it made it a little thick. Try it out, it worked for me!
