yes this is very normal. my daughter's fell off after 10 days and it was still kinda scabby and soggy looking for 4/5 more days. After about a week and a half it looks perfect. Just continue to keep it dry until that goes away. Congrats on your new baby!

Yep. Just keep the area clean and the rest will eventually heal more and look normal. My daughter's fell off at 8 days and it looked strange too. She is almost 3 years old and has the cutest belly button in the world.

yes, it's normal, there may be a little more stuff in there but after the main stump falls the remainings will follow very quickly. Continue keeping it clean and dry. Congratulations on your baby!

I called the hospital helpline when my son's stump fell off because it looked kind of raw (not bleeding, but not scabbed over either). They assured me everything was okay.

Congratulations on your baby girl!!

Don't worry, give it a few more days and it will look just fine. Do the alcohol swab if it looks bloody or mucousy, but don't overdo it because alcohol is very drying.

the stump falls off and then your left with a scab like thing thats still there for a few more weeks. just leave it alone, treat it just like the stump

Yes, normal. And a lot of docs will recommend you do not use alcohol anymore...just a clean, dry swab like a q-tip.

Congratulations! Yes, it is normal. Just keep applying alchohol until it is healed.
