Many steelers fans have been complaining about how they 'congratulated' the pats winning, and how us pats fans 'rub it in their faces.' Well, I think its because..
a.) Every single steeler fan in existence on Y!A was guaranteeing a win saturday
b.) A LOT of steeler fans said they wanted to see TB get hurt so bad he retires
c.) I have yet to see a steeler fan congratulate a pats fan
You mean to tell me that if the pats lost after guaranteeing a win against the steelers, all you steelers fans wouldnt act the same way?

mikep, you missed the point completely. The steelers fans were the ones that claimed to do the 'congratulating.' Dont be so bitter

I do agree that it was annoying to read all week about how the Steelers were going to win. If you listened to people on Answers, you'd have thought that the Steelers were a 10-point favorite, not a heavy underdog.
Some Steelers fans have handled the loss well, but many have simply disappeared.

being a steelers fan, i have to disagree. every single steelers fan did not gurantee a win. heck, every steelers PLAYER did NOT gurantee a win against the pats. you're just seeing one side of it.
you're just listening to what smith said and a few big mouth fans that don't know anything.
i do congratulate the pats on their victory. bare in mind i'm a steelers fan, and i knew the steelers would give them a good game (atleast early on), however, the pats have got their sh!t together this year. the steelers are doing well considering their rookie coach, and some occasional *********. everyone has their spotlight, and right now it's the pats, but even for the biggest new england fan, they've got to remember...no team is invincible. believe it or not.

I disagree...I was on the board after the game last night for a little while.....
Not many Steeler fans, but 2 stick out...Look back at the post from "The Don"...Very classy congrats!...
On the flip side.."mr_cj_jr"..,Going on and on about how NE wasn't going to be able to pass when the weather got worse....
I imagine there are a few others we will here from today, that have always been fans of their team, but not haters of others....
On a side note..There are going, and already have been some pretty obnoxious posts by Pat fans...Please don't think this represents the people of NE
*EDIT: Sorry to here about "The Don", Mr Cappo....Again, guess you don't have to look that one up.... :)

I am a steeler fan.
1) I think making a guarantee is silly and stupid and passe...
2) You did beat us fair and square and there is nothing that can be changed about that.
I have never wanted to see any player get hurt into retirement.
3) I don't care about what people mouth off about...it usually bites you in the rear anyways.
Do you feel better?
Scott in NY - hoping for a rematch on January 20th.
P.S. I thought the 'guarantee' chant at the end was almost as good as some stuff DUke Basketball fans come up with...even Simms and Nantz were fooled!

Oh wow Douglas, as a Boston Resident, native and LONG time loyal pats fan (since the days of Ron Rust and the horrible seasons of the early 90s) I say you are FULL of SH*#... we have embraced the way the patriots win... yes they win big, but they never talk trash, and they never lose focus. I am a pats fan who takes it one game at a time as most do.. especially after the 2 scares the last 2 weeks...
The steeler fans, and players are just low class.. I guess its the whole city. I mean, who hits a player after the whistle from behind like that? Steelers and their fans were undoubtedly bitter, and after Smith's guarantee, I think they are all a little peeved that the patriots picked this week to return to true dominance.
Steelers looked horrible, granted Palumalo out hurt them.... but then again Roosevelt Colvin out hurt the pats just as badly. better team won, and won by a lot!

I started to type out a long explanation but bottom line is... I hate Steeler "fans" and would like nothing more than to shut them up. Patriots fans and any other team has to hear all kinds of junk from a Steelers fan but rarely does the team backup their talk and rarely does a fan show up to take his lumps after the fact.

I've never guaranteed Pittsburgh would beat anyone, and I've never congratulated any fan of an opposing team. The fans didn't win the game. The Patriots won the game fair and square. End of story.

I dont care about the loss, the Steelers were SUPPOSE to lose. It doesn't affect much. I'm not sure how this is "an explanation for pats fan's behavior"

You are so right!
My son wore his Bruschi shirt to a Pirates game (and they stink) and some jerk, being kind here, made a comment to him about Teddy being brain dead. This occurred after Teddy had his stroke. How can people be such jerks as to prey upon a physical condition, especially one that is life threatening?
We only went to make my mother-in-law happy. It's unfortunate my other half is from Steeler country but he doesn't root for the Steelers.Good thing for him
They call us arrogant but what team had shirts on sale before playing the game against Pats with the Superbowl number on it and the year? They got beat and had to use them for dust rags. They have been complaining since then and always will.

No different than I expected... and the Steelers did put up a good fight, but they couldn't follow through, seems they only played til the 3rd quarter.. then they gave up.
