We hear a lot about mass extinctions, and invasive species. But what about new species emerging? If the premises of evolution and mankind's changes being significant are both true, then when can we expect to see the new species emerge?

Thanks.

We have seen many new species emerge. Look at the MRSA bacteria; because we have been using so much anti-bacterial substances, this strain is now impervious to them.

When we moved a population of salmon to a lake, some stayed behind, and eventually, a species of freshwater salmon occurred in about 60 years.

It depends on the stress from the environment. Given a drastic and life-threatening environment, those that are able to survive in such an environment would benefit from being able to pretty much "go to town" on the resources.

For instance, say a given species of bird does best in a colder environment. If then its environment was disturbed in the way that most species could not cope, then died off... those that were left would be able to take advantage of the better supply of food and nesting space. Thus, this population of birds lives on to reproduce, and eventually back to previous conditions... but the general genetic content of the birds has changed.

Life can adapt to change, even drastic, sudden, change, but don't expect "new species" to pop up over night. These things take many many generations. You would possibly see new species of microbes or insects, but you might not have that idea in mind.

Given time, new species will adapt to changes in the environment. However, that is with time. They do not pop up overnight. Do not expect to see any new species except from those that reproduce very quickly. Some insects maybe but that is a longshot. It will be more apparent in bacteria and things like that. The higher order species will come about long after you have shuffled off this mortal coil.

There has already been a substantial amount of biological change in response to environmental change. Not only have species rapidly changed their habitat and behavior, scientists have seen species change their characteristics as adaptations to the changed environment. Over time, these changes will certainly translate to speciation events. The emergence of actual new animal species is extremely slow, however, and I don't know of any vertebrate organisms that have been classified as new species emerged from anthropogenic (human-caused) environmental change.

No Doubt.
Theres new species being found every day just not enough people know about it. I watched a documentry on the sea and there are so many species people have no idea abut they even had a river at the bottom of the sea how weird is that? And skeletons of mermaids. So yeah, they should predict that its obvious as the world changes so do the animals.

I desire I had the source for this, inspite of the undeniable fact that it became a school textbook (no longer incredibly even extreme college), and that i don't have it anymore. yet they spoke of that if evolution befell because of the fact the thought states, then we would anticipate one style of existence (say, guy) to be extra heavily appropriate interior the DNA to the form from which it stepped forward. That is wise, and it is not complicated to attempt scientifically. the certainty is, inspite of the undeniable fact that, that DNA shows random links. Like snake venom is concerning some thing different than what we would anticipate, or mice are extra heavily concerning some form that even an evolutionist might have a complicated time pertaining to evolutionally. Does this make experience? I desire i might desire to remember the existence types they indexed (yet that became extra advantageous than 10 years in the past, so provide me a destroy, ok?), however the belief caught. Now, often times it incredibly is genuine. In different circumstances, it is not. i got here upon 2 articles that it is recommended to make sure. enable's positioned it this manner: If I confirmed you my form new Mercedes interior the driveway (i don't have one, yet for the sake of argument...), and you reported, "Wow! How might desire to you have the money for such a outstanding vehicle!" nicely, think I instructed you, "Oh, i did no longer purchase it. I in simple terms went down and blew up the landfill, and all of the areas for the motor vehicle in simple terms fell jointly interior the fallout, and the foremost landed splendid next to my ft. It became sooooo cool!" you may ask your self what psychological well-being facility I had escaped from and is additionally style adequate to take me returned to it! yet that's what evolution says. If we blow up adequate landfills, at last some thing usefil would be created. useful, the opportunities are super, yet sometime we are going to hit gold. it incredibly is lots much less perplexing to have faith in smart layout, although in case you do not have faith in God the way I do, than to have faith in a mathematical impossibility. of direction, if there is not any God, there is not any sin, meaning you're able to do although you experience like. it is area of the super attraction of atheism.

You can see this with examples of new diseases emerging. Even though it is hard to prove, a disease like AIDS can be shown to evolve from a virus like SIV (which chimps get) into HIV because of a number of environmental factors, including, diminishing number of hosts (due to destruction of the chimps habitat) and frequent contact with humans (allowing cross breeding).
