I'd say the rock fish, its most poisonous. Piranhas are overdramatized in movies their harmless.

Shark, even then the odds of being killed by one are pretty low.
If I had to pick a specific type of shark it would not be the great white. That is the type of shark people most associate with man-eaters. However, there are other sharks that are more often found in shallow water where you can find people. I would go with a lemon or a bull shark. Maybe a tiger depending on where you are swimming.

The Scorpion Fish is the most deadly fish a swimmer could come into contact with. I understand that was not the question but I was intrigued with the question and did a bit of research.

well Catfish have stingers that have toxins in em' and that can really hurt you. also Eels can bite you considering I got bit by a bunch of baby eels when I went fishing a while back but I wouldn't consider them dangerous. Bull Shark can live in freshwater and often swim up river. Other species that enter rivers include the stingrays (Dasyatidae, Potamotygonidae and others) and sawfishes (Pristidae). Some skates (Rajidae), smooth dogfishes (Triakidae), and sandbar sharks (Carcharhinus plumbeus) regularly enter estuaries.
The Asian carp could be considered dangerous to boater or watercraft as they often leap out of the water colliding with craft operators causing injury. These carp can often weigh over twenty pounds. You can see this in action on youtube.com here:

The Candiru is the most dangerous fish if you ask me, it is a tiny parasitic catfish that inhabits the amazon. It has been known to swin up a mans penis’ and uses its spines to lodge it self in place gorging itself on your blood.
I dare you too google it!!!
