There was a whole network set up with dogfighting and gambling, selling and training puppies to fight. I think that's why they used the word "conspiracy". In the dogfighting world, they kill animals that don't fight well, are too old, or dogs that are severely injured in a fight. And yeah, Vick was found guilty of killing animals.
