i had sex with my husband 1 week ago today and im due to start my period on the 17th. I took a test today and it was negative. Was it too soon to take it?

You need to build up the HCG hormone before it can read it. Usually not enough until you miss your period. Thats why they tell you to use the first pee of the morning. Its usually the most concentrated time for it. If ur trying to get pregnant though count out 10 days from the start of your last pregnancy. Then a couple days before and after that get busy. Worked like a charm for 2 pregnancys

that detect pregnancy 5 days before ur missed period, however tests are more accurate a week after ur missed period, (u are not MEDICALLY consitered late til day 35-40 (days 1 starting on ur first day of last period) GOOD LUCK & BABY DUST

yeah but wait until at least a week before ur next period. a 60 minutes special said that first response is one of the most accurate and detectable of hcg hormone at it's smallest levels.

My GF from AD said that its too early to test. You may try it again after 15 days from 17th.
And remember that having sex for only one time does not bring you pregnancy

yes. most tests won't register the hormone until you are around 3 weeks pregnant.
