I would be worried about the Democratic field. The problem with ALL the Democratic Candidates is that they won't be able to pull any Independents and both parties have always had to rely on the the Independent swing to get elected.
They are all far too polarizing.
How would they sway an independent like me?

Pretty blanket statement Travolta. How can you tell an Independent-or any person for that matter-what they do or don't like. My question was what would you do to sway me. And all you did was bark. Not convincing. They are all so far left its nuts. And Hillary has even recognized it and started trying to shift. But of course, you are right. Nobody with a political opinion is every wrong.

JW I somewhat agree with you, but in regards to Edwards I just can't see it. He has positioned himself so far away from central that he appears to almost appeal most to the furthest left. And Obama-well his willingness to negotiate with nations like Iran and his position on the Military make him unpallatable to me. The thing about Hillary for me is that I remember her views during Bill's presidency as being radically scary. But now she is trying to erase the memory of that person to get elected. I just don't see it. To be honest I wish we had someone running that really really could and would address the changes that are relevant in this country.

They dont use logic ...You really think they use their collective heads enough to reach that correct conclusion? They "feel good" about their candidates ,,,thats enough for them.

The reality of the situation is thus. Only one Democrat candidate has been proven to be "unelectable" that being Hillary Clinton. The other Democrat front runners are more than capable of beating the vast majority of the Republican candidates.

The sad reality is that Hillary will probably win the nomination and lose the general election because most people feel so strongly opposed to her. Seriously, you don't win the election when 60%+ of the people refuse to vote for you.

No, at this point, the best thing that could happen for the Democrats is if either Obama or Edwards won the nomination. Either of those two are pretty much a guaranteed win.

Democrats are just fine. Republicans on the other hand have their plate full. I don't believe they will have a candidate by Super Tuesday. Democrats have two viable candidates (Clinton & Obama) fighting for the nomination, whereas Republicans are divided among five ( Guiliani, Romney McCain, Huckabee and Thompson). The gloves are coming off and by the time they get their nominee there will be blood on the canvas. It will be a fractured party, setting the stage for a Democrat in the White House!!! Historically Republicans have always raised more money than Democrats...not so in this election cycle...that should tell you something.

The funny thing about the Dems is that the people I consider their "best" candidates (Biden and Richardson) are hanging out in single digit land. You may or may not agree with their reviews, but their resumes as a 20+ year senator and an ambassador/cabinet member/governor far exceed anything that the three frontrunners have to offer.

Why don't you go get some facts and then come back to us. Democrats are leading with independents. This has been the case for some years now. National poll have shown Dems beating Republicans.

Who on the Republican side is electable? I think the Democrats have several electable canidates against what the Republicans are running, Hillary not being one of them.

No. I wouldn't want to realize something that's total BS. Any Democrat would beat the incompetence the GOP has put up, that's the reality

After 8 years of Bush, and looking at what the GOP has to offer, anyone who isn't a Republican is electable.

Yeah, not like Rudy "The Only Thing I Have Is 9/11" Giuliani and Mitt "I Hate Everyone Who Isn't Like Me" Romney.
