he has been growing consistantly on the 50% percentile but this time he was on the 10th% percentile and the doctor mentioned that his growth had slowed down some. he was 7lbs 12oz and 19 inches at birth and is now 15lbs 6oz and 25inches. He barely gained a pound between his 4month checkup and this checkup. Hes still within the normal range but im concerned that his growth had slowed that much so quickly. The doctor didnt seem concerned about it at all.

Has this happened to you? Or am i making a mountain out of a molehill? Thanks!

Your doctors not concerned because there is no need for concern.

Babies have growth spurts at different rates, and its normal for them to not gain weight weight once they start sitting, crawling, or walking. They might even lose a little weight in the beginning of those activities. In a month or so, once their bodies are used to it, they gain weight again.

Its nothing to worry about in the least.

so normal the same thing happened to me - my son was in the top percentiles for almost everything and suddenly on his 6 month checkup every single one of his measurements went down in the percentile charts.

I would say that if the doctor is not concerned then you should not worry too much.

i bet you're feeling a bit of relief cuz he'll be able to wear his clothes for a bit longer. relax and trust the pediatrician.
