I'm not pregnant - but hopefully sometime in the near future - and I didn't know if you could work out while pregnant [even in the first few months?] I work out at Curves, it's not high impact or anything - the hardest thing that I do is jog on the running blocks they have there - all weight machines don't have weights, they are air resistant.

Pregnancy is NOT an ailment, not a disease, and does not incapacitate you for 9 months. YES you can work out, unless you have a complication and the doctor will specify not to work out anymore. Exercise is good for you, pregnant or not. It prevents pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, makes labor easier, and makes recovery quicker. Just don't do more than you did before pregnancy. If you jogged before, you can keep jogging until you are uncomfortable doing so. If you swam 40 laps a day, you can keep doing it until you are unable to anymore. Just avoid high risk activies, like rock climbing and mountain biking. Keep up the exercise, you will be glad you did.

I am 14 weeks with my second, and I work out for 30 minutes 5 days a week. It's actually healthier to workout while pregnant. It keeps you fit, makes the labor easier, and you'll get back to your pre-pregnancy size much faster.

Yes, but the recommend that you don't exercise more than you did before you were pregnant. So if you're already in shape and have a good routine going on, keep it up! Eventually in your pregnancy, you'd have to go from jogging to walking, though. Those babies bounce around too much once they get heavy.

I have had two children and both times my doctor said that it was fine to workout while you are pregnant. If you workout before you are pregnant you can continue to do what you were doing. If you do not workout before you become pregnant, I would stay with a low impact workout. Always, ask your doctor about what is good for you though. Good luck.

most doctors will tell you that you can still work out. but if you don't usually work out then you shouldn't start while pregnant.
but you will still have to ask your doctor when the time comes because some people have risks during pregnancy which could make it unsafe.
