I am not a fan of giving electronic gifts as presents anyway. Most of them are practically fads anyway. Within a few months they are outdated and the person no longer likes them anyways.

However, with your question, it may depend on the people and the circumstances. A phone might be a big thing to one person and nothing to another. A gift of a cellphone might be the biggest gift someone gets this coming christmas. It sounds like you don't want one. No problem.

I'll be the odd one out and say yes. I'm not a fan of electronic gifts and it doesn't seem very personalized. Besides, most people already have purchased one for themselves if they are going to. If they don't have one by now, they most likely won't use one even if they are given as a gift. I know lots of people who would never use a cell phone even if they didn't have to buy it themselves, and would much rather have anything else.

I have a pay as you go phone since I don't use it enough to warrant a contract that has to be paid monthly. I would not want to be stuck with that as a recipient and I would never do that to someone else either.

I think it is. If a person doesn't have one by now, they're probably never going to get one. I know many people who adamently don't want one, and that's fine. I would never get a cell phone for anyone. Do you know for a fact that they will get enough use out of it to justify the purchase? Then they have to pay the bills themselves, especially if it's a monthly contract. I personally would never do anything like that to anyone.

I have a cell phone but I don't use it enough to pay monthly bills on. And I would be rather annoyed if someone did give me such a gift.

It's certainly a Seasonally Affected Disorder. If somebody bought me a mobile phone I suppose I would be reasonably pleased that they had bothered to by me a present.

However I would prefer a much more personalised gift and Have no problem telling you that its the latest Eagles CD that I want.. So hurry off to the shops and get it now!

Never mind that you cannot spell receiving, 'Christmas' should be capitalised as a proper noun, however it can be lower case as a verb.

If you don't understand that, I for one am not going to explain it to you...

I would not mind receiving one at all. Mine is falling apart and anyone who is close enough to me to know that and gives me one shows that they know me well.

And if I knew someone really wanted one I would absolutely get one for them.

The only thing I would avoid is just randomly getting one for someone. If they love the phone they already have or are not sure if they ever want to own one your gift may make them feel obligated to use it and then that might be on the sad side.

relies upon on the guy. the place I stay (Adelaide), i do no longer see an excellent distinction between men and ladies whilst it is composed of cellular utilization. a good style of the adolescents I see in school look to have their telephones in school on facebook, youngster, and text fabric one yet another from distinctive school rooms (exceedingly pathetic, in my opinion). I, a woman, hardly use my telephone, different than whilst i'm on college journeys, wherein case I save my telephone in my pocket, and whilst on the prepare or bus I sit down on my lap in case my mom texts or calls.

No I would not mind recei/ieving a mobile phone as a gift. In fact I would be delighted. Rather wish I had people phone me on the old one I have anyway so maybe a new one might bring the phone to life.

I know that my 12-year old, grand-daughter would love just any, very basic, mobile phone; she'd happily have a pay as you go (which is what I have - don't use it enough to warrant a Contract any more) but her Mum won't let her have one.
So, no, not sad if that is what the recipient really wants.
