I am writing a satirical essay on why america is so great...
such as, all we do is buy! buy! buy! and Eat! Eat! Eat! I have a few other reasons as well, but i was wondering if anybody had any other ideas?

We are ignorant of the world and can't find anything on a map outside of the US. We refer to ourselves as America even though there are 2 continents with the name America (They probably call themselves American in South America, Mexico, and Canada as well). We are a land of extremes with the fattest and skinniest, laziest and busiest, and smartest and stupidest people. We are arrogant...I could go on all day, but I have to study for finals.
I'd love to read your essay when you're finished. Love that satire!

Do some good kid and write about something we don't already know about. Satire is more appealing when not used as a vehicle for idle whining. But if you really want to throw some kicks at a badly beaten horse(amidst a field full of badly beaten horses), you could write about the grossly disproportionate distribution of wealth throughout our country. Or pop culture. And you better not watch MTV if you have this attitude!

The gun culture scares me the most....I don'tthink our founding fathers intended the "right to bear arms" as an excuse to own assault rifles with armor-piercing bullets.
