Agreed! At the very least he should have to serve every minute of the 23 month sentence. I didn't hear but I'm guessing that timed served will be part of the 23 months.
I'm sure the powers to be will figure everything out so that Vick the dog killer, can either make training camp or preseason for the 2009 season. I'm also sure that some franchise with little if any integrity will pick him up.

This sounds about right. I watch the Houston Animal Cops show, and people who let their horses starve to death, only get 2 days in jail and a $500 fine. 23 months sounds about right, also, the state of Virginia can seek additional charges/prison time against Vick for dogfighting. The charge he will currently do time for is a Federal charge. That is different than a state charge.

Yes. look at what OJ got by with. Murder. Hopefully, some how, some day, OJ will get what is coming to him.
Vick, appears to have a whole lot of character. He'll be alright. He may never make another mistake like this again.

great answer from the educ8tor up there, at least he did get some kind of punishment, celebs these days get away with way too much I think, 24 star Keifer is in prison now serving 8 mths for 2nd offense drunk driving, its better than nothing, but I think they should use the money celebs pay to get their butts out of trouble not for the system in that town but rather for charities or education of children, put the money to a good use instead of the governments pockets!!!

After seeing what his co-defendants got for prison time the 23 months is about what I expected.

America's legal system favors the rich and famous. Just look at the OJ, if you can afford the right professional liars and spin men, aka defense attorneys, then you buy your way to leniency. Everyone else is out of luck. The NFL should ban him for life, most employers would fire a worker for something like this.

Umm, it has nothing to do with race at all. I was a fan of Mike Vick, I loved the way he played football and just plain out enjoyed watching him. What he did is disgusting, you kill animals for food, and necessities never for fun. Enjoying watching things die is Sadism and rather frightening.

no, since its a federal case he is required to do at least 85% of his sentence. so he will be doing at least 20 months if he is good in prison. and he has 3 yrs probation. also, he still has state charges against him

My question/answer, an d so where are the other people who dog fight? You can best believe Vick isn't the only one. But, have started looking for them, NO? It's alright for the rapist murderer to go free, but the hang the guy who dog fights. Something that has happened in the US since the 1600's. You're right it is a joke, that some many people got up in arms, ready to fight. But how many of those same people look at their own neighbors to see how they treat their animals? It's a race thing!!!

He has been totally disgraced, lost tens of millions of dollars, learned his lesson, won't do it again, and isn't a danger to society.
He has paid a very, very high price for his crimes, so 12 months in jail (at taxpayer expense) seems like plenty to me.

He should get NO time. We should be spending our time on more important matters than sending another prisoner to be Boarded, Hosted, Roomed by the system.
How much is it gonna cost for his Prison care? We could be sending someone to college for the cost it's gonna be to fund is prison career.
