i dont agree the federal government should not have gotten involved....they have never indicted a person for dog fighting before....just because its mike vick thay had to get involved.....the state could have handeled the case themself....now he faces a state grand jury....dosent seem fair.

I think it's about right. He did this for FOUR years! It's not like it was one little mistake that just happened once.

Five years. Hopefully the State will make up for it. The guy who snitched him got 21 months, Vick deserved much more for being the ring leader and he kept lying to the bitter end.

If you treat a dog like that, you will treat a human the same way. The sports figures need to learn, that they are NOT above the law. He should have gotten more time. That is what we call, a slap on the wrist, as far as I am concerned.

No way harsh, because Paris Hilton was in jail for like 45 minutes.

I don't. My friend is in prison for 2 years and after he gets 3 years probation and $150,000 in fines. what he did was way better than what Vick did. What he did didn't hurt anyone/thing. Nobody died, nobody bled. He didn't even hurt the ecosystem, economy, or emit greenhouse emissions. I think what my friend got was harsh. Vick deserves more than 23 months.

I think they should have gotten a couple of the dogs they forced to fight and locked Vick in a cage with them for a few hours, teach the sick basturd a real lesson.

I thought he deserved to get the maximum penalty of 5 years. Hopefully the state continues with their separate prosecution and gets him a few more years, what a scumbag.

HARSH!? Are you f-ing kidding. This guy is responsible for the deaths of numerous dogs AND illegal cash flow.
He's lucky to have only 23 months!
