There is really no age (be careful with that four year age gap, could land someone in Court), but when you are ready for the changes it will bring about in a relationship. Also when you are ready for the responsibilities it brings about--birth control, protection against STD's and possible pregnancy. The emotional aspect is as important as the physical.

I'd say when you're old enough to be able to accept the consequences that come with it. There are to many babies being born into the world who have no father to help raise them. It's always better if a child has a father and mother to help nurture them as they grow and to teach them about life. And sometimes the young mothers are capable of handling the situation by themselves, and sometimes they need that help only a father can provide. I'll say to you what I told my own son, always make sure you use protection. Avoid unwanted pregnancies by making sure you both are protected.

I think that it all depends on the person. There are some that are out there that are like 14 and they are having sex but that is just way too soon. It just depends on the maturity level.

There isn't a correct age, there is a correct level of maturity. Most have it too soon.
