I just got my WISC results, and unfortunately my IQ is only 81.

However, I am usually seen as gifted by my teacher and friends, and score exceptionally well in all of my subjects. Could I be rejected from a job if my IQ was too low?

Don't believe the hype. IQ tests are an imperfect measure of intelligence. Maybe you just had a bad day - maybe you accidently skipped a line on the form - making all your subsequent answers one line off. One test is not enough to get a true measure of your intelligence. You don't have to report your IQ when applying for a job anyway. Plus, high IQ doesn't mean success in the world.

61? That would make you borderline mentally retarded. I think the test is mistaken. You could not possibly have an IQ of 61 and excel in your subjects or be considered gifted by your teachers.

I would re-take the test. I find it very hard to believe that you can be considered gifted by teachers, score well in all subjects, and even write so eloquent a question with an IQ of 81. Seriously, get a do-over. But no, no one will be seeing your results. Best of luck.

Now I know you're full of it. Your IQ is not 61. Hope you're enjoying yourself today....

A nicely-designed examination meant to diploma a guy or woman's compentencies in logical enterprise of issues, contemporary events, precis reasoning, etc. is a competent indicator of man or woman intelligence. there is probably very few exemptions or arguments to the alternative. the easy flaw of IQ attempt is whilst a similar set of examination is run to a similar team of human beings in short era that the examinees tend to memorize the solutions. yet another is whilst a nicely-designed battery is run between a incorrect (by way of reason of coaching, age, nature of artwork, etc.) set of persons. interior the acceptable prognosis, the layout of an IQ attempt and its administration are 2 diverse yet complementing events requiring careful making plans.

An IQ test is designed to test your ability to learn. As you get older the test is indexed to compensate for knowledge gained already. Young children are not indexed because they have not yet gained knowledge
