My husband installed the car seat but it doesn't appear to be doing what it should.

Where can I take my car to have someone see if it's installed properly??

Call your local police station and they'll tell you where to go. Basically, the best way to get your carseat in on your own if you're going to do it is have one person put their knees and all their weight into the seat while the other pulls the latch, etc. tight. If you go in to get checked, bring some towels to roll up, a pool noodle cut to the size of the seat bottom in width, or a car seat positioner from the store. This way, they can install what needs to be safely installed for your baby. It's also possible that the seat you chose isn't compatible with your car. If that's the case, take it back and try a different brand. I'd also bring the mighty tite and/or a locking clip if your car isn't LATCH equipped.

Hospitals, car dealerships and baby stores (such as babys r us) usually have a trained person on staff that can do a look over for you to make sure it is installed properlly. Also your local fire department, police station or ambulance station should be able to do this for you.
