You make no sense.

Try downloading and installing Star Office (it's Free) and see if it will allow you to open your files. Star Office is more versatile than the Microsoft Office suite.

Before you attempt to send anything created in Microsoft's "new" office suite, do a "Save as" and change the file extension to something other the Words default. Microsoft in it's money grabbing was tried to take over the word processing world by defaulting to a "new" file extension, and then tried to get the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) to accept it as the new standard. They were turned down. But now we have to change the default "Save" extension or the folks that we send to can't open the file because of the new extension.

Once again we must all bow to the "Great Microsoft in the sky".

There is no way that I would allow Office 2K anywhere near any of my systems or networks.

Hi

Your question doesn't quite make sense...

Word is part of microsoft office - so if you have office then you already have word!

If the format is no so important - open the doc, use 'edit - select all', 'edit - copy' and then paste the lot into a notepad, or wordpad document and send that, any windows PC will beable to open these.

Microsoft Word is not free you may have elements of it in office but you need the software to install things as you go along Word is a very complex bit of business as you may know. You will have to buy it.

If you have an old version of Microsoft Office then they may be receiving your attachments as winmail.dat files instead of file.doc files. I have had this problem in the past when using MS Office 2000.

If you can't upgrade then I suggest you save the .doc files as .rtf (rich text format) files and see if they can open those.

If you have Microsoft Office then you already have Microsoft Word, as it's part of the suite of programmes.

You have microsoft offfice? do you have the disk? if you do then you can insert the disk to install word, without removing all of the others.

If you don't have the disk and you need MS Word, all I can recommend is illegal sites for downloading it.
