Filial:
1. of, pertaining to, or befitting a son or daughter: filial obedience.
2. noting or having the relation of a child to a parent.
3. Genetics. pertaining to the sequence of generations following the parental generation, each generation being designated by an F followed by a subscript number indicating its place in the sequence.

The word you are using is a adjective. Meaning it describes something. So filial is referring to child/childlike/son/daughter. In that case your question is kind of confusing. But I guess the answer would be yes, they do. American children obviously have relation to their parents

You can't generalize as everyone is different. But as a rule, children do respect their parents.
