Are the pregnancies then healthy?

It is very possible for a tubal ligation to fail, in this day and age. Many babies are being carried full term since they have been intrauterine pregnancies. Others not, because they've been ectopic pregnancies.

I had my BTL in 1998, 7 yrs later I was pregnant not only with one baby but with 2. I miscarried @ 10 weeks. My gyn at the time of the surprise pregnancy told me it's all too common but not spoken about much. Per him, it all depends on the supplies (thread) provided by the hospital/facility and technique used by the surgeon.

In the past tubal ligations failed in that sperm were able to get thru to the ovum, this resulted in ectopic pregnancy as the egg was unable to travel the fallopian tube. It rarely happens now with more advanced techniques.
