When he had about 4 teeth (6mo. or so) I gave him cheerios, or those Mini Goldfish crackers. You can find fruit flavored finger foods in the baby isle at the grocery store too. My son liked the banana ones. Just make sure it is something that will disolve with some saliva, to prevent choking.

I started with teething biscuits about 7 months, I kept trying banana but she kept gagging, then ritz crackers worked, then cherrios, then over cooked noodles, small overly cooked potatoes and carrots. I delayed in trying finger foods because she kept gagging on stage three food so I thought she couldn't handle, turns out she doesn't like the taste that was the reason for the gagging...lol. All you can do is try, just keep a close eye on them.

I feed my son finger food at about 5 months. He only has two bottom teeth but complete understands the chewing part. He moves the food to his side gums and chews then until he knows he can swallow them. You'll know when your child is ready!

What do you mean by finger foods? Like appetizers such as mini-wienies, baby egg rolls and potato puffs?
