ok, stop saying mean things about me putting her down. i just don't want to say anything mean. we are like best friends, and the reason i'm asking this is becuz she is bothering me and keeps on asking me if she is fat. i'm not trying to be mean at all.

I'd try not to say anything to hurtful.
Its probably got something to do with her age, shes at the age where she is starting to become more image conscious and interested in boys.
Maybe you should tell your parents to make family meals that are a little more healthy. You could also set a good example by eating healthily in front of her too.
You could also ask her if she wants to go for a run around the block with you or go to a dance class.
Good luck (:

I love that you care about your sister. She's lucky to have you.
My suggestion: Discuss your concerns with your mother but not your sister--yet.. Everyone has a different body style and a healthy weight range that is right for them. In early puberty many girls get thicker in the middle before shooting up.
Women can spend their whole lives needlessly obsessing over their weight. It starts at your sister's age with well meaning comments.
Big sisters are great role models. Be a good one by loving your own body shape. Demonstrate healthy eating habits; don't starve and don't go on fad diets. Do eat breakfast. Make exercise a regular part of your life. You could always invite her along for a walk to to the gym as sister bonding time not an editorial statement about her weight.
You'd be helping her, and yourself, establish a lifestyle that will make the best of the body you have.

That's a bit under 7 stone? At 4' 9" she's not exactly a lightweight, but I wouldn't have said she was fat either. She's only 12 - she'll start getting taller rather than heavier next. If she's bothered about her tummy tell her to cut out the sweet sugary foods and make sure she gets plenty of exercise.

she isnt fat and her tummy is just the genes from the family. Tell her she is perfect the way she is and quit worrying. that no body is perfect not even those models you see in ads or on tv. Perfection is an impossible task to gain and will only cause worry and heart ache in the end.

WOW.. WOW... umm... You sister is fine... You shouldn't put her down or tell her.. maybe you should encourage her to go the gym. By encouraging her i mean you go to... This is how eating disorders start. They start by 1. someone thinking there fat and 2. when someone points that you... I am sure you sister is beautiful.. It doesn't matter how much you sister weighs or what she looks like, the only thing that matters is her happiness and personality... SO encourage her... don't bring her down

My cousin went through the same thing. She constantly called me skinny, because I am 5'4 and 14, and 85 lbs. She's 105, but she is NOT fat, she has a very nice body. At one point she was a BIT chubby, so I told her I needed a work out buddy, and we worked out and worked out, and now she is completely confident with herself and her body. I never told her that I thought she needed to work out, I just told her she needed to do it with me for me. It worked perfectly. Everyone is beautiful and perfect though, but sometimes you just need to work on yourself a bit more! Good luck!

Reassure her that she's perfect weight! I'm a nurse, and have been for the past 2 or 3 years. She, believe it or not is the perfect weight for her age and height. If she insists that she is to heavy, and develops an eating disorder, tell your parents immeadeatly.
-Good Luck!

I'm sure she's just fine. She seems to fit the height and weight catagory in a healthy way. If you're still concerned just have someone take her to her primary doctor and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you. Best of luck.

She doesn't sound fat to me. She's probably just growing.
If you're so worried about her health, then tell her to watch what she eats, and have her exercise each day.
