That is terrible, but what's the point in worrying about it now? They can all vote now!

There are plenty of countries that still do not allow women to vote or even work or drive. I don't know why the so called National Organization for Women does not address this or actively seek to change it.
Does anyone know?
Merry Christmas!

How many of you think this is terrible? Women in Europe get PAID maternity leave. The US is one of the few modern nations that does NOT guarantee women this right. Even women in some African nations are entitled to paid maternity leave. What a backwards country the US is.

That is a terrible shame.
And that is not a fact that most middle eastern countries still dont allow it.
Also, Islam always encourages equality and rights of a woman. I just request everybody in all the blogs to know that.

Yeh thats terrible and very surprising. As an african I used to think Europeans had a lot of liberty and freedom. It came as a surprise to learn that among the major European countries France WAS THE LAST COUNTRY TO ENFRANCHISE WOMEN AS RECENTLY AS 1944. Its still surprising to see that even in my lifetime women could not vote in SEVERAL EUROPEAN COUNTRIES LIKE YOU HAVE JUST SHOWN

You have forgotten all the countries where women still don't have the same voting or democratic rights as men.

It is terrible, but at least they changed for the better. If I thought about all the wrongs the the US has done in its past, I would not be able to sleep at night. Sometimes its best to look to the future instead of back to the past.
