That happens all the time...even when we buy what should be best, Oscar Meyer.

Great question. Today's processed pork is pretty strange stuff. I couldn't even find a raw ham this year. In Kansas City, I buy slab bacon, either the store brand or Farmland, sometimes Hormel and Oscar Meyer. When I'm out in the country, I look for small butchers or smoke houses. I'm afraid great pork may be a thing of the past. Ham does not taste like it did 40 years ago. Not much does. TD

I'm off the pork so I do the Beef, Turkey, Veggie bacon. I did purchase one beef bacon package with so much fat that I really wondered if it was beef or not. The turkey bacon is so lean that it's not enjoyable to eat.
My best bet is: the Louis Rich turkey brand.

It sounds like your bacon is as bad as ours. The last lot just seemed to stew in all of the liquid that is injected into it, and it was salty as hell.
My last lot were oval shaped, and were totally devoid of fat and only curled a little.
The Kiwi Bacon Company is supposed to be our best, but I doubt the is available over there.

I like Farmer John's bacon. Less fat which is why it shrinks so much!
