My girlfriend and myself have been dating for a year and a half and we just recently moved to a new town. Well, theres this guy at work she tells me about almost every other day about either stuff happening at work or her interactions with him. Just recently she was chewing on ice and she told me it reminded her of him and she told me a story of him. I'm trying to put this behind me but stuff similar to the ice chewing story it just gets to me for some reason (I haven't reacted or said anything to her yet...).

I mean, if the story was about a female friend, I would be perfectly fine with it. I'm not a very jealous individual but I was wondering if this is something I should be worrying about it or is a it a typical thing females do in relationships, especially of fellow male colleagues you just met?

Honestly, when I worked for the first time, at a new place, I did this exact same thing, without thinking about it. My boyfriend apparently got fed up, with me and my stories, about a guy who I had worked with.
But I was so infacinated with this guy, we had a lot of fun, and he made work go by a lot faster, however, he also had to hear
about my boyfriend, we talked a lot, and my boyfriend was on the top of my list, and he actually listened to me go on, without being anything.
So keep in mind, she could be talking about you, and even if shes not, don't worry about it, the people at work, who make things more exciting, are the ones we wanna talk about, male OR female. :)

I agree a little with that answer....except the question you can only answer is...are you giving her enough of attention/conversation??? you did say you just moved to a new town! Is she trying to say hey... look I am getting a lot of attention here...you better give me what I'm looking for because if you don't he will. She may not be looking "for a new guy" BUT may be looking for male attention. Be sure you are more intriguing and interesting than this guy. If she tells you about him act interested, laugh at the story...sounds like he's a great co-worker...is he married or dating...maybe we can all go out for dinner sometime.....

My bet is that she is infatuated with this fellow. As long as they're kept restrained and in perspective, I think its normal for folks in relationships to have harmless crushes on others (as long as they can control them!) And who knows if she would actually run off with him?

But I don't like the way she's been handling this attraction (harmless or not). If her attraction for him is small, she should just blow it off and forget about it instead of freaking you out with these stories of hers (how would she feel if you were always yakking about another girl?). But if her attraction for him is serious, she should sit you down and say, "Hey...there's someone at work that I think I like. Do you think that we should break up? Start seeing other people?"

Either way, I would think that she should know that her remarks about this other guy would be disturbing to you. And its wrong for her to knowingly hurt you.

I recommend that you calmly state your observation. Say, "I don't know if you're even aware of it or not, but I think you have a crush on your co-worker. Do you think we should break up or start seeing other people?" Its a rough conversation, but keep your voice light but sincere and stay calm.

Maybe she will decide to break things off with you, but more than likely, I expect for your assertiveness to catch her off guard. If she's a good woman, she'll be embarassed by her own behavior and either break things off *like a lady* or improve her behavior.

P.S.--Good luck.
A.PS.-->Its always cool to see someone on Yahoo Answers that knows how to use grammar and punctuation! ^_^
