Somebody please answer my question without some stupid cut down, either at me or him. Faith does matter, evidence can be seen if looking. Not one response that I've seen is better than a blind attempt at cutting some down.

Kizah, much better, but to be honest, Obama has made a point that the democrats should take religion seriously. Google his speech at Sojourner Magazine.

He is Christian and attends the same church as Oprah Winfrey in Chicago when he's there. He and his wife Michelle, still have a home in Chicago, where she resides.
In his bookd, "The Audacity of Hope", he talks about his Christian faith and how it came about.
If you haven't read it, you should. Also, wikipedia.com talks briefly about him being baptized into the Christian faith.
You cant also tell by his integrity, attitude, and example that he is a Christian.

He has a whole chapter in his book, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE, devoted to his faith. You should read it.

How do you know any of the candidates are genuine in their professions of faith? Their actions speak louder than words. You should also read Chris Hedges' book, AMERICAN THEOCRACY. We face a greater threat from right wing Christian fundamentalists. They are the ones making religion such a big deal in this election. A president should be elected on his merits, not on his religious beliefs as Americans worship in so many different ways, no one religion can satisfy all people. So whether the candidate is Church of Christ, Mormon, Catholic or good ol' southern baptist is not as important as whether or not he believes in the Golden Rule.

Reading about the man the old ANIMAL INSTINCT says he is not as portrayed, too much ( black & white) must create an inner conflict, is he a brother or is he ????
The best of dancers can not dance at two parties at the same time, no, in my opinion he is not genuine.

Born to a white American mother and a black Kenyan father, Obama grew up in culturally diverse surroundings. He lived for most of his childhood in the majority-minority U.S. state of Hawaii and spent four of his pre-teen years in the multi-ethnic Indonesian capital city of Jakarta. A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, Obama worked as a community organizer, university lecturer, and civil rights lawyer before running for public office. He served in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004, launching his campaign for U.S. Senate in 2003.

"He does not salute the US national flag, he does not salute the Commander In Chief, he does not respect the more senior Hillary, he shouts & dances inside the church, he respects Oprah, he's scared of Michelle, he supports gays & lesbians, he professes he's some sort of Christian, he has no experience, and he wants to be your president. So, he has many (dis)qualifications. Hehe!"

Who cares what faith he practices!
I am voting for him because of his qualifications, honesty and the impression he has made on me.
Its nice to see someone running that can at least communicate without stepping all over himself or herself.

That is up to Obama and G-d.

Not up to me to decide or determine that of him.

I look at the issues and his stand.

From what I see about him I don't want him to be president.

Why is his religion an issue anyway? The man is a potential employee for the leading of a nation, nowhere in there does it say religious leader.

It's kind of a non-question. He's a member of a denomination that'll go along with anything. He can be completely sincere, or completely insincere, and his resulting faith is the same. He doesn't belive in much of anything, if he's a sincere member of the Universal church of Christ.
