African-Americans are roughly 12% of the population THEY DO NOT DO THE MOST CRIMES. The media only shows them doing crimes (FOR A REASON!) but it isn't true. Bring the stats if you want but its really common sense.

To be fair, 60% of white-Americans that are arrested are not put in jail. They are usually let off with probation.

http://www.ojp.gov/bjs/crimoff.htm Statistics on criminals in prison

This in no way suggests that most crimes are committed by blacks, however it does suggest that there is a very large number of blacks in prison. You can infer what you will here, but these are facts that I found and interpreted as what they are. Statistics about people in prison. Now I'm pretty sure I'll never find a study of all the crimes committed in the US broken down by type, ethnic group of the offender, and punishment because if I did I am pretty sure there would be a better picture of who commits most crimes...but then again I don't need charts and graphs or studies to tell me whom. The answer is CRIMINALS commit the most crimes.

your probably right African Americans do make up 12% of the population. but what if 10% of them are causing crimes that means that 90% of african americans are involved in crimes.
soooo even though more white americans are causing crimes its only 20% of the overall white population where as its 90% of african americans.

therefore that can only mean that if more african americans where in the country say to 30% then crime would have to increase so as to keep the stat at 90%.

however this is all only an example to show that just because the group only make up 12% of the populations DOESN'T mean that they cause the least amount especially if 100% (of that 12%) are causing the crimes.

12% of the population, and here are the percent of crimes for which they are responsible, from the FBI(1):
Murder and nonnegligent manslaughter - 50.9% (most)
Forcible rape - 32.5%
Robbery - 56.3% (most)
Aggravated assault - 34.5%
Burglary - 29.2%
Larceny-theft - 28.9%
Motor vehicle theft - 34.9%
Arson - 29.6%
Other assaults - 32.3%
--Three crimes typically viewed as white crimes. Even here they account for more than their fair share:
Forgery and counterfeiting - 28.2%
Fraud - 30.0%
Embezzlement - 32.2%

And so on and so forth. The only crimes in which they aren't over-represented are DUI, Drunkenness, and Liquor laws.

So while they may not make up the most crime (more than 50% of all crime), they do account for most murders and robberies and are well above where they should be in nearly everything else (the only exceptions are those related to liquor).

For your claims of racism to be true, that would have to mean that whites are okay with murders, rapists, arsonists, etc. wandering the streets, because they're letting them off simply because they're white. That's the only way the results are going to be skewed against blacks. That's what you want us to believe? That whites are knowingly letting off violent criminals with such regularity that it significantly skews national crime data? Do you realize how absurd that belief is?

Do you have the demographics of prison inmates, broken down by areas? Do you think there is a reason why law enforcement officials profile cases certain ways? We would need to know these thing in order to make a valid determination.

Edit:
by the way, you'd want to look at several different variables such as social-economic class, education levels, etc. Race may (and probably is) be just the most noticeable variable, but it is not likely to be the prime causal factor.
