Hey Cupcake. You are in a very serious situation here. First of all, was it someone you have/had an acquaintence with? If it was, I wouldn't be TOO worried. They could find out your email through mutual friends.
Otherwise, DO NOT REPLY TO THE EMAIL. NEVER. Just wait and see if this creep emails back... if he does you have two options:
1. call the police. they will do something about stalking... it's a serious issue. and never think that they will think it's stupid, they have to help us out... they're police.
2. just block the email. It will make you feel better, and this creep will eventually give up knowing that you blocked him and aren't answering him.
This happened to my friend a few months ago. And she chose to just block the email, but do whatever you would like in this very scary situation.
Good luck, hope this helps and happy holidays!

You know... I get emails from such people which are much more friendly - like two days before, I got a mail from the undead widow of Rev. Sheikh Al Makhtoom Bin Jalebi who died in world war 2, leaving her a lot of cash (amounting to about $8.75 billion) and she was looking for a safe way to transfer it, and thought I was the best person for it. I get mails like that which go directly to my Spam box, because if any of those were true and I were to respond, I would have bought all the countries in the world by now about six times over :).
On a more serious note, you did say that you remember seeing this person. He wouldn't get your email address unless you gave it to him or someone you know gave it to him. You can always ask him how he knows you, because it's only email... but if you have problems, you should definitely call for help.
Oh, ok, you wanted my reaction :)... never been in that kind of a situation myself, but I would ask how they know me or got my email address. That would lead somewhere. And if I'm not sure, I'd probably try to close the chapter and say I don't remember. If it's persistent, I would ask someone responsible to deal with it.

Level 4 threat for danger!
Take high caution.
Act assertive, not submissive.
Make them think they just don't want to mess with you.
Go back to that place wearing brown belt Karate clothes. lol

Sounds stalkerish. I would ignore the email completely.

I would just reply with this " I'm sorry, but I do not know you, and if we met.. I don't remember"
I would be worried... he might be a stalker

Mmm, I'd get a little nervous about that, and say that it wasn't me that they saw. Claim memory loss, anything.

I wouldn't respond, and I would be very watchful, especially when in that area.
