Many Hispanics and Arabs are at least physiologically white, but are not considered as such by mainstream society.
I'm Hispanic, but went I visited West Africa, the locals thought of me as a white guy.

You're right about the fact that there is no such thing as a pure white race. When people say pure white, they mean that person is of some Aryan ancestry. However, by the basic definition of White, some people who are not white CAN pass for white. Would you consider a person of Hispanic ancestry white? Probably not, even though technically there are white Hispanics. Look at Cameron Diaz and Christina Aguliera. They are white Hispanic. When you see Cameron Diaz you probably just see a white girl.
What it all boils down to is that we lack an understanding of the differences between race, nationality and ethnicity.

Well, I have seen a person in my Church who has white skin, light hair, and ***** features. I think he is an albino though.
For the most part, though, people who look white probably are mostly white. In black white mixing, I believe antebellum people decided that all outward trace of ***** is gone when the black component is 1/16 or less. I think it can go by 1/8 in many cases.
For Asians, it probably at 1/4 or even 1/2.
However, if a hardcore racist believes you have black blood in you, you are out. The case of "Leo Felton" -- someone posted earlier -- is an effective demonstration of such rejection and of the difficulties of telling "pure" white from mixed white.

As a white man who has dated white women and eventually married an Asian one, I'd have to say your opinion (not a question) is somewhat irrelevant. I've looked the same in each situation. But I do look a little taller next to my wife.

What is your point exactly?
Yes, people who are half black or half native-amreican can often look white. But why does the fraction of your whiteness matter to anyone but some race-theoriticians or white supremacist groups?

Yes , if you are talking "fair' and not 'white' features as of blonde hair, long nose , and deep eyes.
If you have ever watched Taiwan or some North east asian movies ( Chinese , Koreans and japanese) , you will find that they are whiter than the " white " Europeans.

I think that you are right, for the most part. However, there are exceptions...for example, Meg Tilly and Jennifer Tilly (the actresses) are half Asian, but most people think that they are "White".

Of coarse! The makeup and stuff might be really expensive. I mean look at Michael Jackson. He was black and turned himself into a white man.
