Ahh yes, I can answer this question... I have done research into this!! It is so my husband (who is a volunteer firefighter) will have an excuse to leave on Thanksgiving (when my parents come over) and Christmas (when his parents come over). The toaster can tell when this occurs (or when we are having sex or when I have tasked him with some chore that he doesn't want to do) and will run on this setting.. thus burning the toast and setting off the automatic fire alarm... at which point my husband will jump up and dash out of the house (much faster than he moves when I ask him to do something) while laughing gleefully and thus pissing me off. So.. in other words it is a conspiracy. :)

Possibly because some people put other things, such as bagels, in their toasters and want those a little browner than just a piece of toast. I guess some do like the "burnt" flavor though.

They(toasters) are made by the same companies that make bread - the more toast that burns and you throw out the more bread you have to buy : )

ps.........nice boobs

Why do they sell cars that the speedometers read up to 120 mph when it is illegal and dangerous to go this fast (and most cars that read 120 can't go that fast anyway)?

Why do the make the volume knob on my boombox go higher than the speakers can handle so I blow a speaker?

Maby so the bread can toast faster, but you have to take it out instead of waiting till it comes out? I don't know.

Frozen bread-if you store it and you forget to defrost it you can still toast it that way.

Also you can toast other things in it that might take longer. Like crumpets.

the bread makers make the toasters too, so when you burn the toast, you have to use more bread, its a revolving cycle for the bread makers.

Maybe it's for those with self esteem issues, who don't think they deserve good toast?

Nice cleavage too.

To answer the question.
Some people like really burned toast.

gotta be the right answer. seems like a stupid thing to do if there are people who do not like burned toast...
