My eyelashes are coming out?

Every three or four months when I am taking off my makeup a large portion of my eyelashes come off. I haven't made in drastic changes in mascara brands or makeup remover. Afterwards that portion of my eyelid is really sore even though I don't feel the eyelashes come out until I look at the pad that I used to wash the makeup off. I am left with like a bald spot on my eyelid, what is causing this? I don't use an eyelash curler, and I don't keep old mascara. Has anyone else had this problem?

They naturally shed every few months. I like using Olive Oil or Mayonaise to remove mascara.
