Isnt the REAL defeat of Iran going to come from within its own border?

I hope so. Iran will only be able to oppress its people for so long. The best way to bring down Iran is from within.

Agreed! God I hope so. But do not forget that the leaders of these groups tend to "disappear". Iran is facing an armed insurrection in parts of their country and I believe we are "unofficially" supporting those groups.

However the regime in power appears to be one of those that will incite violence elsewhere to help stabilize themselves internally. My bet. If things get tough at home they will start a war with Israel, or a state that they designate as a puppet of the west.

The only thing that would make the whole nation of Iran suddenly band together would be an attack by the U.S. or Israel. It would be the best possible present we could give Ahmadinejad.

The defeat will come if they attack Israel. Israel is a strong ally of the U.S.. If provoked, I'm sure the U.S. wouldn't hesitate to help defend Israel against them.
