I'm in the same "mode"... I've been working nights for the past week (retail) and the last thing I want to do is FOLD anything ! I have a basic routine that seems to help..... I do this on a daily basis and it keep the mess to a minimum....
When I wake up... I will wipe down the bathroom with antibacterial wipes (counters, sinks, toilet seat) Clean the mirror and take the hamper downstairs/sort/start a load of laundry....
Make the kids breakfast- as they are eating I unload/load the dishwasher, wipe down the counters/appliances with antibacterial wipes... Let the kids eat... I dust/vacuum the livingroom and diningroom....Kids done.. I sweep the kitchen floor and mop 2-3x per week as needed.
Switch laundry...
Make beds/vacuum bedrooms... Dust once a week.....
Just get a routine down and it won't be so "daunting". I try and do a bit everyday so that my weekends aren't solely for cleaning I can do fun things as well.....
Just in case you're wondering how big of an area I clean it's a 1,700 sq. ft. ranch with 3 bedrooms/office and a partial family room . I have 2 small childen, husband and a dog...

I feel your pain, Keshe!
First, get a cup of coffee and maybe some eggs for protein: You'll need the energy.
Then grab a garbage bag and collect all the trash and broken stuff, and toss it.
Next, start a load of laundry. And while that's going, tackle your rooms one at a time, starting in one spot then working out. That way it won't seem so overwhelming. Oh yes, and put on some music that will make you want to move! If it's a big job, the theme song from Rocky does it for me. Or perhaps Eye of the Tiger.
Good luck!

I'm pretty much doin' the same thing you are... on the computer trying not to remember the dishes that need to be done, the laundry, the vacuuming... I'm drinking a Mt. Dew hoping to gain some energy later on after I have my "play time" on here... haha good luck!

Don't do you cleaning all in one day. I spread my cleaning out during the week. I clean offices and houses so that is what I do so I do not get burned out.

you dont have to do it today - leave it until tommorrow when you are in a better frame of mind.
If you do when you are not in the mood, you wont do it properly anyway. Give yourself the day off - there is going to be more than enough to do in the next few weeks anyway.
