Alright, so a day or two ago I noticed this white, pretty solid, bump to the left of the backing of my cartilage piercing. The piercing is like, a month and a half old and I haven't had any issues thus far really, and I take care of it well. But, anyways, today I wake up and it's really red... it'd been bleeding and now it looks torn, like it "popped" or something. I have no idea what it is, hahah. So, any help as to what to it is or how to heal it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

sounds infected... take 2 cottonballs and soak them in peroxide... lean over the sink and squeeze your ear between both soaked cottonballs a few times a day..... soak the earring in peroxide take the post of the earring, and insert back in your ear, if the earring has infection on it, no amount of cleaning will heal your ear permanently... do this 3 times a day... in a day or two, you will be fine.

Probably an infection. Sometimes your body can reject piercings. Make sure your stud or ring is made out of hypoallergenic material. Also instead of dousing it with peroxide which by the way washes away good bacteria the kind you need to heal as well as the bad switch to a betadine solution. You can find it in any pharmacy. Also since it is an older piercing and it has already gone through its initial healing you can apply an antibiotic cream like neosporin once a day. If it persists more than a week or gets worse you should probably take the piercing out and go see a doctor.

Do you wear the earrings to bed? It could have gotten caught on something. Anyway, it sounds infected. Soak a cotton ball in peroxide and hold it to the area for a few seconds. Repeat a couple of times a day. If the condition doesn't improve, see your doctor and stop wearing you ear bobs until it's healed.

If the ring or stud is fake and isnt real then that could have something to do with it. I got my ears pieced when I was 5. It was fine at first but they later got infected. My parents bought me real gold ones and it cleared up. I also have a friend who just found out that she is alergic to silver after something simmilar happend with her belly button ring.
