I know this isn't the right section but since no one is in women's health at the moment I'm asking here too. My period started a few days early this month (last night) and lucky me it is finals week. My problem is that instead of becoming moody or bloated like most women, I get really sick. I get really dizzy and nauseous (vomited twice already this morning) and I have terrible cramps. Midol, aleve, etc don't help at all. Does anyone know a quick fix or at least something that can help me get through my tests today? Anything I can eat or take or just anything...I'm desperate!!

Lots of water and and eat a well balanced meal, small meals, not something big and heavy. Advil always worked for me. Make sure you eat something b4 you take any over the counter medication. This might be some of you problems because your stomach is empty and it cause stomach cramps and makes you miserable. For me when I get like that I just like to take a nice warm shower and relax and take a cat nap for a hour or so. Good Luck, hang in there.

When you get your period and your losing blood, you lose iron as well, so if you are not a big meat eater, it can make you quite sick. Eat something healthy and bland, like dry toast to try and settle your stomach. If the vomitting is continual see a doctor for a shot that stops you vomitting. Eat snacks regularly. You could also be very stressed as well so try relaxing by walking and doing some deep breathing excercises
