No you cannot. I'm in the same boat and was sick all weekend. I called the pharmacy and this is the safe list they gave me:
Ibuprophen--best suggestion for pain
Tylenol--second best, doesn't last as long
Sudafed--not sudafed Pe---for stuffy nose
Regular Robitussin---for cough

Cold and Flu meds will dry up your milk according to the pharmacist.

P.S. Thinker is sooooo very wrong. This is the best time to nurse, your body is producing more antibodies to fight the cold and nursing passes the antibodies to the baby preventing the baby from getting your cold!!!!

For coughs: Avoid products with an alcohol content of over 20%. Benylin, Robitussin (DM, PE, and Maximum Strength), Triaminic Expectorant, and Vicks 44E and Vicks 44 Dry Hacking Cough are not harmful, but watch for infant drowsiness. Avoid multi-action formulas such as Tylenol Multi-Symptom Cough medication and Vicks Nyquil Liquid or Liquicaps

no. dont take it. Get some regular nasal spray and squirt it in your nose until it runs down your throat. Both sides. Then blow good. A couple times a day. It'll clear it up in no time. Cuts colds down to just a couple days, not a week or more.

COld medication is not meant for people. It makes colds last longer by keeping your body from expelling the infected mucus and getting rid of it. Beyond that, the medication itself is bad for your cardiovascular system and heart, and its horrible for babies who get it second hand in breast milk.

I promise the saline solution will work worlds better and faster than anything else.

First off - you SHOULD continue to nurse as you'll pass immunities on to your baby and make him LESS likely to get sick. (Also, keep in mind that he was exposed to whatever you have BEFORE you ever showed symptoms.)

better not to nurse, till your cold is cured as you could pass it on to the baby.

consult your doctor.
