I will be going home for the holidays in a few days. Every time i go home i get sick! Stomach problems as well as sore throat, coughing sneezing. Its usually bad enough to ruin a large part of my vacation. We fly and i know there are many germs in airplanes and airports and the humidity and temperature is different at home verses where i live. Getting sick is something i can count on because it happens EVERY time. What can i do to help this not happen??

take that airborne medicine before you even leave your house, carry the purell antibacterial lotion, wash hands frequently!!!! get alot of rest before you go, if your resistance is already down, you will get sick, no partying, staying out late, drinking... all these factor into lowering your resistence which in turn, makes you more suseptible to picking up sick germs....

I used to get sick everytime I flew anywhere, until I started bringing Purell antibacterial wipes with me and washing my hands often from the time I get to the airport. I never, ever eat anything, rub my eyes, etc. unless I have washed my hands or used a wipe immediately beforehand. While this won't stop *everything*, I haven't gotten sick on a trip (or at work, for that matter) since I started doing this a couple years ago, and it's been wonderful.

this happens to me, and I only drive 1 hr to visit my family
I grew up in the country and was use to the "country air", but since have moved into the city and when I go home I end up with a stuffy nose & my allergies kick in. I asked my doctor who told me the best thing to do is start taking an over the counter allergy medicine 1 week BEFORE I plan on traveling and contuinue to take it as directed until I get back home. It works for me every time
