1. X^2-Y^2=(X+Y)*(X-Y)=(X+Y)*5=65
hence X+Y=13
X-Y=5
X=9, Y=4
(9-4=5, 81-16=65)

2. X*(X-1)=60
X^2-X-60=0
By solving the square equation and eliminating the negative solution, we get X=(sqrt(241)+1)/2
Since we took X to be the longer side, the length of the other side is X-1=(sqrt(241)-1)/2
You can verify that by multiplying X by X-1.

3. 8/(x+1)+8/(x-1)=6
8*(x-1)+8*(x+1)=6*(x-1)*(x+1)
16*x=6*x^2-6
solution of the square equation gives us x=3 km/h
