The answer to this question is obvious ...... NO !

Now if the original question was related to punishing a child for a wrong doing - there is a big difference between a physical assault & a slap on the wrist neither of course being the necessary discipline.

I think we (adults) are so scared , we only seem to consider the politically correct thing and overlook doing the right thing. I say YEAH.. and JOB WELL DONE by taking care of business. This mother reacted the same way many people would have reacted years ago and kids knew better then do things wrong. Now days they have NO punishment what-so-ever for this stuff. I hope the kid got his butt beat at home too.

If MY son throws a big rock at you you would have my permission to grab him by the back of the neck and bring him to me.. If he runs and you tackle him.. good for you for catching him... he'll not only be in trouble for the rock but for running..

When your son .. the one that has been told he has some disorder for acting bad... ends up in jail, you think about how YOU raised him..

It all depends on what you mean by physically assaulted, and who is doing the assaulting. If its a parent, and the parent chooses to spank their child (with a reasonable amount of force), I think that is their business and not mine. If its anyone else laying a hand on that child, clearly the answer is no.

No person should assault any other person.

However, in the case of one person allegedly committing some crime, and a second person making an arrest of that person, sometimes force is needed/

I neither chased him across the street or slammed him against a fence. She read incorrectly.
Thanks!

Are you talking about spanking? If so yes if they need it. If you are talking about beating or anything sexual then no.
