I've been trying for 4 months now. And a year ago I had an abortion (same partner) as we just weren't ready and still travelling but now we are and it isn't happening. I'm really scared I could have mucked something up during the abortion..Thoughts much appreciated

try not to worry, its perfectly normal for a healthy couple to be trying for up to a year, its unfortunately seems to be true that the more you wants a baby the less they seem to arrive,

Relax, try (hard i know) to let fate do its own thing for a while and dont worry. Give it a couple more months and if nothing is still happening then give your doc a visit for a quick check that alls as it should be. As a couple you concieved before, theres a good chance that once you relax you will again.

Good luck x

I can understand your worry about abortion mucking things up, but that is unlikely. Many women have abortions for many reasons and go onto to have subsequent pregnancies.

Four months isn't a long time to try, according to the statistics. Most couples conceive within a year. That seems like a long time to wait when you want to be pregnant! If your under 35, most doctors won't see you regarding infertility until you've tried for at least a year.

If you have irregular cycles, excess spotting, or any medical condition you may be able to be seen earlier. You could also do a preconception visit with a doctor to help calm your fears and get your body primed for fertility. Most doctors actually recommend a pre-conception visit.

Most couples issue with conception is timing intercourse. If you aren't tracking your ovulation, you might want to consider it. Things like ovulation predictor kits sold in drug stores and on-line, monitoring Basal Body Temperature, and checking cervical mucus and/or checking your cervical position are helpful in finding out when you ovulate.

Monitoring these things could also help you feel like you are managing your own fertility. So much of TTC feels out of our control, its nice to be able to do something!! There are many good books on fertility out there and many on-line support groups that may be useful in calming your fears and help you through this journey.

Good Luck!!

You are getting worried for nothing. The second pregnancy may be delayed by a few more weeks/months.Have plenty of sex during or outside the period of ovulation.I am sure you will get pregnant within next 90 days.
