Do they all spend their time singing Burl Ives' songs? Or make up silly songs about their toymaking instead?

I think they sing whatever is in their hearts. I heard they sing lots of Bob Dylan songs.

I personally sing my own little ditties... make up my own words so no one can copy off me! OK, now and then we do get into it, singing something all together, but the songs would amaze you as they are not what you consider Christmas songs at all! I must admit we do really like that new song about Rudolph running over someones grandmother! And, there is this little ditty about leaving out parts of the assembly directions that is just to cute! Square peg in a round hole kind of thing! Well... sometimes you just have to have a little fun! I was sent to the South Pole one time for punishment... Santa made me write out all the instructions in long hand for all kinds of things! The old Bugger! However, I'm back now and just as busy as a bee here in the workshop... My job yesterday was checking the Naughty and Nice list... You are doing pretty good my friend!
Hang in there! You have extra Stars for being such a nice fella!

No.. The Elves are Santa's slaves, so a union would kind of defeat the purpose..

The older ones stick to the Burl Ives' songs--and the younger ones will sing their silly--made up songs. Sound familiar???? LOL

I just had a vision of all the elves singing away in the workshop, sipping on eggnog or plain rum, with Wally on a table conducting their sing-a-long!

tell dirty jokes, speculate on the Clauses love life and whether Santa can get it up or just Ho Ho Ho's as a cover up, make plans for the big blowout when the old boy is out on his rounds, draw straws for who gets stuck with entertaining Mrs Claus, --- a fair share of time is spent with union stewards for better working conditions, and"little people" discrimination issues.

Oh ! they sing alright, but they have to sing something with a good beat so they don't break their rhythm and they just love sound effects !
