How long after you start getting Braxton Hicks do they turn into real contractions?
Im 35 weeks and have been having them every evening now for the last two weeks. They are not very painful, just feel like period aches/cramps. I am also getting slight pains in my pelvis, like groin strain.
Is it possible to tell how far away labour is??

some women get braxton hicks right from early pregnancy some dont get it at all. to b sure its b/h take a pain killer and lie down if it doesnt go away afer half an hr then ring ur care provider and speak 2 them . 35wks is not ideal so dont wish labour on yet (easier said than done i know) ultimatly if it is b/h there is no surefire way of knowing how far away labour is. the pain in your pelvis sounds like it would b caused from bubs head being engaged and adding pressure. relax while you still can.

No, not really. I had braxton hicks for the last month or so. At 37 weeks, I was dialated 3 and 75% efaced, but I still didn't have my baby until 40 weeks. My true contractions started out feeling more like cramping.

I had braxton hicks from about 32 weeks, and went 40+12 with my baby girl. So could be a while!! Every body is different, it could take you weeks, or hours, you could have even had the baby as i write this!!

Either way... Good Luck, and congratulations!

Who knows everyone is different!! I suffered Braxton Hicks with my first for 3 months before he finally arrived 10 days late. My second I had braxton hicks on and off for about a month before she arrived 3 days late!!! Good luck and baby will come when baby is ready!!!

just be patient not until the contractions get really really bad and painful and consistent do you need to worry about going to the hospital.... when I was pregn with my son I had Braxton Hicks 4 weeks before I actually had him

It is abslutely impossible to say!!

I started getting regular BHs at about 36 weeks. I went to 40+5!
Your body is getting ready, but you could still end up being induced.
