Sure does. It seems that kids send their mail all at one time when they write the only resident of SH, NP (that's Santa's House, North Pole). So, when these mountains of letters come piling in (usually around November...sometimes, you get a kid that wants to put in an early very "special" request, these usually never get lost) it is inevitable that some will get lost. But, Santa has numerous plans to ensure his annual run is accomplished as efficiently as possible. He has for a number of years been employing parents to act as surrogates to his cause. Even then, occasionally there is a rip in the program and a child goes without...somewhere...all alone...waiting.

Never! That doesn't mean everyone always gets what they want. Whenever kids in my family wrote Santa a letter, they always got a reply on official Santa stationery marked North Pole. In Canada the official postal code is HOH OHO.

kid's today are too lazy to compose, draft, stick it in an envelope and put .41 cent stamp on a letter. Than walk all the way to the curb, open mailbox an insert letter, than raise the flag. They were raised on e-mail.

Yeah, probably. Considering all the gifts that children ask for and don't get.

There's probably a moron working there, too, who likes to sit and open the letters, and laugh about the children who haven't been good and saying "I know what THEY'RE getting this year - a good 'ol lump 'o coal in their stockin'!"

that's why there is a 'dead letter office'
what's most unfortunate
is the number of kids that get lost at the north pole
and the size of the 'dead kid office'
is somewhat shocking
