cobalt blue is a deep shade. cobalt is also a chemical element with some radioactive isotopes. one kind of dirty bomb was called a cobalt bomb because the outer covering was radioactive cobalt which would spread widely during explosion. cobalt was (may still be) used as a radiation source in certain cancer therapies.
