Let x = the width
length is 15 feet less (minus) twice the width.
Perimeter is defined as the total distance around the garden.
(length + length + width + width = perimeter)
Using what is given in the problem write your equation.
2x-15 + 2x - 15 + x + x = 240
6x -30 = 240
6x = 270
x = 45
2 x 45 -15 = 75
Now you have your dimensions and can figure square footage by multiplying the length by the width. (3375sq')
2 bags of fertilizer will cover 3000sq' so $39.90 leaving 375sq' not treated. Will let you figure that one out.

Agree with Lit about repeatedly asking the same question. Do you understand the math now?
