I guess I'm just in the dark. I only heard about this last night from a friend and had not heard any media talk about it like all of you seem to have had.

...sorry, couldn't help the rib; seriously though, the situation is probably just the opposite of what you've observed. I suspect that even the most remote horror film fan so realizes that the upcoming "I Am Legend" is a remake of 1972's "Omega Man" (...or for that matter, 1964's chiller "Last Man on Earth", which in turn, was based upon author Richard Matheson's original novel, "I Am Legend"), that the observation is hardly news-breaking, or even noteworthy...except to the uninitiated few, like yourself...

The Omega guy is a 1971 technology fiction secret starring Charlton Heston. The action picture is consistent with Richard Matheson's 1954 novel, i'm Legend. The screenplay replaced into written via John William and Joyce Corrington, and the action picture replaced into directed via Boris Sagal.

...I agree with 'frightfilmfan'; the media coverage, regarding the Will Smith project, is quite well covered, and probably more informative than it really needs to be. It would be hard, even for the casual film goer, to not recognize that "I Am Legend" is a remake...and in my opinion, do we really need another remake of this film???

um, i think the people who made the movie now about it, since they have said it's a remake..by the way it's like the 4th film to be made from this crappy book.
