the beatles because most of the beatles songs are well known and are legends. The rolling stones have only had a few songs that are still listened to and loved by people today. Today the Beatles have shows modeled after their music and they changed the way society was. So many people were influenced by their music. Charles Manson was influenced supposedly by the song Revolution 9 and thus thought that the Beatles were trying to tell him something. He was crazy but the point is that so many of the songs in all the abulms have touched people's lives so much and you would be a fool if you chose the rolling stones.

The Beatles by far!! If the Rolling Stones had given up after Brian Jones died they might have had a better chance but they went on for 500 years afterwards and made so many songs that really weren't up to par anymore. So in their 500 year lifetime they still can't measure up to what the Beatles did in 8

I love the Stones, but the Beatles are just in a different league.

They were only making albums for 7 years, and they produced 12 albums of original music (one was even a double album), all of them classics.

Try this - find a teenager who hasn't really heard the Beatles or the Stones, and doesn't own any of their albums. Give him or her an album from each band (e.g. "Rubber Soul" and "Sticky Fingers"). Ask him or her to listen to each one. Come back in one year and count the number of albums by each artist he or she has since acquired. 9 out of 10 times he'll own many (if not all) Beatles albums.

Beatles, if I had to choose only one to hear ever again. Only because they were so inventive and their music so varied. The Stones are GREAT! But, let's be honest not nearly as creative in such a diverse way. I know you only needed a simple answer, but I MUST explain myself when leaving the greatest rock n' roll band in the history of the world behind.
